Anthropic adds document and slide creation tools to Claude chats

Anthropic is expanding its AI platform with two new productivity features called Claude Docs and Slides. These tools allow users to generate, edit, and export documents and presentations directly from a standard Claude conversation.

A unified chat experience

Alongside the launch of Docs and Slides, Anthropic is updating how conversations work by merging regular chats and a feature known as Cowork into a single interface. All of the platform's productivity tools, including design capabilities, are now accessible from any conversation. The system automatically determines what a task requires, applying the necessary context, skills, and connectors without needing a separate mode.

Collaboration and sharing

Files created with the new tools start as private documents but can be shared using a single link that works on mobile devices as well as computers. Collaborators can work on the same document simultaneously and leave comments, functioning similarly to collaborative tools found in Google Docs. Users can ask Claude to make changes to the generated files or perform manual edits.

Availability

The new features are currently launching in beta. The unified interface is rolling out first to Pro and Max users on web, desktop, and mobile devices over the coming weeks, with access for Team and Free users scheduled to follow at a later date.
