Early adoption figures for Meta's Muse application
Recent market intelligence estimates suggest that Meta's new application, Muse, has surpassed early adoption rates seen during the initial launch of ChatGPT. While direct comparisons require careful regional filtering, the early metrics point toward significant consumer interest.

Market intelligence firm Apptopia has released new estimates regarding the initial performance of Muse, Meta's latest application. According to the data, Muse has been downloaded more times during its first 12 days on the market than ChatGPT was during its own initial 12-day launch window.
Launch comparisons
Comparing the two applications requires careful alignment due to differing initial strategies. When ChatGPT first launched on mobile, it was available globally but limited to iOS devices. In contrast, Muse launched across both Apple's App Store and Google Play, though its availability was initially restricted to the U.S. and Canada.
To establish a fairer baseline, analysts examined iOS data strictly within the U.S. and Canada for both applications during their respective first 12 days. Within this subset, Muse recorded 1.8 million downloads compared to 1.3 million for ChatGPT. Globally, Muse accumulated 2.8 million total installs over the same initial timeframe.
User engagement metrics
Beyond raw downloads, daily active user counts also favor the newer release. U.S. mobile app figures show Muse reaching 642,000 daily active users, compared to 231,000 for ChatGPT at the same point in its lifecycle. When isolating the comparison to iOS users alone, Muse maintained a higher count with 359,000 daily active users.
Data providers note that these figures are third-party estimates rather than official internal statistics from Meta. However, the scale of the numbers indicates a strong start for the platform.
Distribution factors
Meta has historically leveraged its existing social infrastructure to drive adoption, as seen with the launch of Threads. Analysis of Muse's user base indicates substantial overlap with current Meta platforms, with over 95 percent of users identified as Facebook users and 63 percent utilizing Instagram.
While Meta has not yet published official adoption figures for the application, the early trajectory suggests the software is securing a notable foothold in the consumer market.
